Yep, I am. Can't stop me.
My friends and I get together once a month to watch Ultimate Fighting Championship on pay per view. Actually they watch it, I usually fall asleep by 11:30pm on my husbands shoulder.
We decided the make the event a little more interesting and have themes for the evening. Everyone has to make something to eat and it must fit the named theme.
The first event was Sexy Foods and it was to be held at my home. As we have discussed in my other foodie friends blogs, some of us have an undying guilty pleasure for The Girls Next Door. So my sexy themed table was a ode to Hugh Hefner and Playboy. I grabbed a few of my hubby's old and new issues to go on the table, made some great food and gave them risque names. But the idea of the evening was a tribute to the chandelier in Hef's bedroom. I adorned mine with various undergarments.
My dessert of the evening came from my new favorite cookbook, Williams Sonoma Dessert. This book has the most delicious pictures I have ever seen. It shows you how to make fantastic versions of classic desserts and a few new ones in there too.
I picked Berry Fool, which is an old-fashioned English treat whose name derives from the French word fouler, which means to crush. You can make it as I did and top with fruit, or layer sliced fruit in between layers of the mixture. This dessert was quite easy, very fragrant, creamy and delicious. I topped it with a raspberry creme stick. Now its name was not Berry Fool for the party, but then I want to keep this site PG rated, so I will just keep that to myself.
This recipe makes 4 servings, so I doubled it and made a few changes here and there
Berry Fool
adapted from Williams and Sonoma Dessert
9 strawberries
3/4 cup raspberries
3/4 cup blueberries
1/3 cup sugar, plus 1 to 2 tbls
1 tsp fresh lemon juice
pinch of salt
3/4 cup heavy cream chilled
Stem and hull the strawberries. In a small bowl, toss the strawberries with the sugar. Let sit for about 15 minutes.
In a food processor pulse the strawberry mixture, blueberries and raspberries together until they are jam like. Put mixture into a bowl and add lemon juice and salt. Taste and add 1-2 more tbls of sugar until its preferred sweetness is reached.
In a chilled bowl, mix heavy cream until firm peaks form. Scoop the chilled fruit into them cream by thirds and fold into mixture just until incorporated.
Serve immediately or cover and refrigerate overnight. Garnish with strawberries or mint leaves.

I like your themed idea, that's great! And I hate to admit that I catch the odd episode of The Girls Next Door and I'm horribly jealous of their ridiculous lifestyle.

Now as for your sexy dessert.. that looks like a strawberry cloud in that glass - scrumptious! I'm so making it and I'm so eating it while watching my girls. ;)

I admit to having a small obsession with "Girls Next Door". It's ridiculous, but I can't help it. Your party looks like so much fun! Great idea.
What a fun party idea! And those Berry Fools... my leftover berries from the weekend will not die a wasteful, shrively death now :)
Everything looks great! I love the dessert. Williams Sonoma's cookbooks? I can't resist!
I caught site of bras hanging above the table! hehehe, cute theme, and I am curious of the REAL name you used for that lovely dessert at the party. Maybe you would consider adding my blog asa link on your site. I'd like that, as I have you linked from mine.
